State of the art

It is one of the important tasks of ADASE to analyse and describe the world wide state-of-the-art in advanced driver assistance systems. Here, three different views on ADAS can be distinguished. The view on the state of technology, the view on the state of practice, and the view on the state of policy. The state-of-the-art reserach tells where we come from.

The ADASE roadmap indicates the future development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems in Europe. The matrix not only reveals the complexities of the technological issues, but also relates them to societal and legal aspects inherent to the various systems. It furthermore emphasises the contributions to the expected safety enhancements. Most importantly, the road map identifies technological gaps and future research needs in the field. It shows where we should go.
